The Only Way

John 14:6 (NKJV) states, “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” I enjoyed the message Dr. David Jeremiah shared on this Scripture not too long ago. It reiterated the fact that Jesus Christ is the only way to live eternally with God. This is of utmost importance, as each person must decide whether this is true or not.

In looking at this Scripture, you see that it does not say Jesus is one of the ways to God. It says Jesus is “the way.” In other words, He is the ONLY way to have your relationship with God the Father restored. If you are asking, “Why does our relationship have to be restored? What happened?” Please click here to gain a full understanding. For all of us have sinned against God, and our sin separated us from Him (Isaiah 59:2). It took the redeeming work of Jesus Christ on the cross to restore this broken relationship (1 Peter 3:18).

This is hard for some to believe. Furthermore, each person who makes this claim is considered by some as intolerant or narrow-minded and are berated for holding such convictions. Yet, look at what the Bible says:

“Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12 NLT)

“For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all men…” (1 Timothy 2:5-6 NLT)

These two Scriptures do not leave much room for an argument. Jesus is “the only way.” It would be the same as if someone would say, “I don’t believe in the law of gravity.” Just because a person would make this statement, would it eliminate the truth of gravity? If someone did not believe that 1 + 1 = 2, would it change the fact that these two numerals total two?

If an individual argued against the truth that it takes the union of one egg and one sperm to form a human being, would it change this truth? Likewise, someone’s unbelief regarding Jesus being the one and only way to a restored relationship with God, does not change the truth of this fact. If there is only one way to be born physically, is it narrow-minded or intolerant to accept the truth that there is only one way to be born spiritually?

Accepting or rejecting “The Only Way,” will determine your eternal destiny. Click here to decide and have peace.
