There are continual showers of blessings being bestowed upon us by our Heavenly Father. When we open our eyes in the morning, when we walk to the bathroom, when we comprehend with a clear mind, when we swallow the food we chew, when we hug another person, and so forth and so on. All of these are blessings from above.
If you were to look up the word “showers,” as a noun you may see a definition of “a brief fall of rain or sometimes of hail or snow.” With the arrival of April, it produces a mental picture for me of rain pouring down. This rain is a blessing for it cleanses the air, nourishes plant life, and provides water for our needs.
However, the word “showers” when defined as a verb, means “to bestow liberally or lavishly.” Now this definition during this month of April produces a mental picture for me of Jesus Christ showering an abundance of blessings upon us by His death, burial and resurrection. Through faith in His redemptive work on the cross, freedom from the power of Satan and sin are ours, the guarantee of eternal life is ours, the indwelling Holy Spirit providing guidance and power to live righteously are ours, in addition to a host of other blessings. His work on the cross has blessed us with everything we will ever need. Click here to learn more. Resurrection Sunday (Easter to some) is a great time to reflect upon the showers of blessings that have been liberally and lavishly poured upon us.
In reading this, will you take a moment to relinquish the desert places in your life to the abundant showers of blessings that can nourish and bring life to that which may appear dead?

Showers of Blessings
You are blessed with today. (2 Cor. 12:9) |
He or she is not out of God’s reach. (Mark 10:27) |
Being transparent and exercising faith by sharing the need with Christ’s body may likely solve this issue. (Phil. 4:19) |
Being vulnerable and joining a group at church or in the community could quench this desert place. (Phil. 4:13) |
Jesus came to provide life and that abundantly through His resurrection. (John 10:10) |
On Resurrection Day and every day, instead of focusing on the negative things that enter your life, make it a deliberate choice to recognize the showers of blessings that come your way. If you have become blind to them, ask God to open your eyes and reveal present blessings you need to see. Then begin thanking Him for them with a grateful heart. They are truly there. It will strengthen your soul.
“I will cause showers to come down in their season; there shall be showers of blessing.” (Ezek. 34:26 NKJV)
Happy Resurrection Day to you and yours!
