Praise God for the opportunity to share with you. I did last month’s podcast with Paula and am looking forward to doing something new in 2026 by writing a monthly blog for TWM’s newsletter. I have always had a heart to serve our Lord and have done so with Paula over 30 years. Many of you that came to our annual conferences would see me involved to make sure things ran smoothly. I love serving with my wife and appreciate this new door that God has opened for me.
Some of you may know that I retired this year in October of 2025. So, in thinking about God and our (Paula and I) doing new things in 2026, I will try to reflect upon or try to consider and remember some former things and how God is moving me to do some new things. In sharing, I hope you will be inspired to do something new in 2026 also.
Previously, I worked for the same employer for over 38 years. I managed an Accounting Department and had employees that came and went over that time, but I remained until I retired. I lived in the Montgomery County area before marrying Paula. Later we moved to Exton, Pennsylvania where we lived over 30 years. It was family who influenced us to relocate to Chester County. Also, over these years, many family members passed. I have always enjoyed sports, and much of our three sons’ activities were centered around sports. So I am used to being active. Having many friends, serving within this ministry and the church, there was not much time to just sit.
Presently, I am retired, after a year when God did something new by moving us to Florida. It has been a new season for Paula and me, and God is consistently doing something new. We had a new granddaughter born since we have been here. We are involved in new and different ministries within our church and meeting new church family members. We are meeting new neighbors and getting involved in new activities with them. I have taken on learning pickleball and am getting better in playing it. It has become a new sport I enjoy. Although we will be active as long as we can, we are learning to relax and rest too. Our sons, with their families, enjoy showing us new things in Florida. So as we enter 2026, by God’s grace, we will continue to do something new.
As a child of the King, He has called each of us to be light in darkness. God has people everywhere. We are not alone. He has not and will not leave us.
Jeremiah 17:7-10, states:
“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,
And whose hope is the Lord.
For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters,
Which spreads out its roots by the river,
And will not fear when heat comes;
But its leaf will be green,
And will not be anxious in the year of drought,
Nor will cease from yielding fruit.The heart is deceitful above all things,
And desperately wicked;
Who can know it?
I, the Lord, search the heart,
I test the mind,
Even to give every man according to his ways,
According to the fruit of his doings.”
Psalms 1, one of my favorite Psalms, reflects the same thing.
God is doing a new thing in a new season of my life, and I am putting my faith on the line to trust Him to do exceedingly above all that I can ask or think. There is much I could say, but would like to definitely share that God is faithful. Blessed be the God of our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ!
Thank you for praying for us. Prayer is big in going from the old to the new. So thank you, thank you, thank you. Remember, God is always doing something new. The breath that we breathe each day, His mercy, and grace are new to us every morning. Bless His holy Name!
