Cannot Say Enough Thank Yous!

The last time I shared a blog with you I went from something old to something new. Every day is a new day that the Lord has given us. How are you using it for His glory?

I am so thankful for each breath that I take and the blood running warm in my veins. Being healthy is a blessing that I do not take for granted in this season of life. I pray that God’s will be achieved in our lives today.

How many times within a day do you say, “Thank you, Lord!” Once, twice, five, ten or twenty times? Let us take one day at a time and live for Him, because tomorrow is not promised to us. Let us see how much we can thank Him for and then make it a prayer to Him.

Every morning that I wake up, before my feet hit the floor, I pray “Thank you, God for another day, for health and strength in my body, for a roof over my head, and the food on my table, and for my family.” Then I may proceed to say something like this:

“Lord, you have given me so many reasons to be thankful. I cannot count them all. The list could go on and on. That is why I owe You my praise. I cannot say enough “thank yous” when I think of all that You have done for me. When I think of all that You brought me through, because You are the Author of my story (life). When I think about Your unconditional love, then I know Lord You deserve all my worship. I know You are far from finish, because I am still here and You are still in control.

What I am trying to say is I could never say enough “thank yous.” When I think of all You have done, when I think of all Your love, when I think of the price You paid, and for the way You made me. Only You, Jesus, deserve all my praises. I do not deserve all these blessings. That is why I could never say enough “thank yous”.

Since the words “thank you” do not seem to be enough for all that the Lord has done for me, I started to produce a specific list of what I am thankful for. Try it yourself and list out some of the things you are thankful for. Here are a few of mine:

• for salvation (Ps. 27:1)
• for forgiveness of sins (Eph. 1:7)
• for my family (Prov. 15:33)
• for His mercies (1 Pet. 1:3)
• for His grace (2 Cor. 12:9)
• for His love (Jn. 3:16)
• for His goodness (Ps. 27:13)
• for His joy (Matt. 25:23)

Note the words of Psalm 9:1-2, and 9-11:

Verses 1 – 2:

“I will praise You, O Lord, with my whole heart;
I will tell of all Your marvelous works.
I will be glad and rejoice in You;
I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High.”

Verses 9 – 11:

“The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed,
A refuge in times of trouble.
And those who know Your name will put their trust in You;
For You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You.
Sing praises to the Lord, who dwells in Zion!
Declare His deeds among the people.”
